| GetRight is a Download Manager
program to help you download files from the Internet.
Most people have already experienced the problem...you are
downloading a file, and your modem gets disconnected, or call
waiting interrupts, or your computer crashes, or any number
of other problems. Then you have to restart the download from
the very beginning, losing all the time you had already spent.
GetRight solves this problem by allowing
you to resume a download. If you got part of the file before
the problem, GetRight will restart the download in the middle
so it only gets the rest of the file, without having to restart
from the beginning. This makes downloading your files much
easier and faster.
GetRight has many other more advanced features
to help you download the files--from re-dialing the modem
automatically to turning off the computer when it is done
getting the files (so you can just leave it alone to do the
work!) You can even set a time when it should dial the modem
to get the files...so it can do all the work in the middle
of the night while you sleep.
There are too many other features to list here. If you have
ever thought "I wish when downloading I could do ______",
there's a good chance GetRight already does it!

Running in the Tray Icons
Normally, GetRight just sits running down in your tray icons
waiting to take over any downloads when you click on them
in your web browser.
Save As
When you do click a file in your browser that GetRight should
download for you, it first pops up a Save As window so you
can control where the file is saved on your computer, the
name, etc.
Downloading
After picking where to save the file, the Download window
shows. This window shows the status of the download such as
how big the file is, how much GetRight has downloaded, how
much time is left, etc. You can easily pause and resume the
download here (that Pause button swiches to be Resume if the
download is paused). And using the Options button (which shows
a menu of choices) you can do things like setting the file
to be run when the download finishes, picking to use a different
skin, and more.
Download Status
If you want to see the status of all your downloads, you can
open the Download Status window by double-clicking on the
tray icon (shown above). On the Download Status, you can control
how batches of files are downloaded, move downloads into different
categories (games, sounds, etc.) You can also set so GetRight
will shutdown the computer or hangup the modem when the downloads
finish. There are many other functions and choices in the
menus and toolbar.
New in 4.5: This also shows one of the new things in 4.5,
that History folder on the left lets you view and do actions
for recently finished downloads.
Configuration
The Configuration window is another place where you can control
many things about how GetRight works (there is a lot here
and it can be a bit overwhelming, when first starting, probably
don't want to change the defaults.) But if you want to change
something about how GetRight works, you probably can, and
this is the place to do it. You can get to the configuration
window by Right clicking the tray icon, then pick the Tools
menu item, then "GetRight Configuration".
New in 4.5: This also shows one of the new things in 4.5,
the nice new Tree of configuration items on the left replaces
the older Tabs across the top.
