PowerGREP is a powerful grep tool for quickly searching through large numbers of text and binary files , such as software source code, letters and correspondence, server or system logs, reference texts, historic archives, etc. to quickly find exactly what you are looking for. PowerGREP can also perform complex text and binary replacement operations for easy maintenance of web sites, software source code, reports, etc. You can search for plain text, or use powerful Perl -compatible regular expressions .

• Search for Information -- Quickly search for a piece of information through files and folders on your computer with PowerGREP. Search for text, keywords and phrases through plain text files , Microsoft Word documents and PDF files . Search for text or byte sequences through binary files .


• Maintain Files with Search and Replace -- Searching for pieces of text and replacing them with others is a basic feature that every text editor supports. You probably use this feature in your own text editor quite a lot. With PowerGREP, however, you can search and replace through heaps of files without opening them first.


• Extract and Collect Information and Statistics -- With PowerGREP's Collect feature, you can gather statistics and extract data from files. It works just like the Search function. Only the way in which the search matches are listed is different. The Search feature's results are meant for finding relevant sections and pieces of information in files.


• Sequences: The Ultimate Search and Replace -- In many situations you need to perform several search and replace operations to perform certain editing tasks. Executing them one after the other can get quite tedious if you have to perform this task repeatedly. You will save a lot of time with PowerGREP's Sequence feature.
